*Job Title:* Radiation Therapist

*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Patient Preparation:* Explain the radiation treatment process to patients, address any questions or concerns, and ensure they are comfortable before the procedure.
* *Treatment Planning:* Work with radiation oncologists to determine appropriate treatment plans, considering the patient's medical history and the type of cancer being treated.
* *Radiation Delivery:* Operate radiation therapy equipment (linear accelerators, brachytherapy equipment) to deliver precise doses of radiation to the target area.
* *Patient Monitoring:* Monitor patients during treatment sessions to ensure their safety and well-being. Observe patients for any adverse reactions and report concerns to physicians or other medical staff.
* *Positioning Patients:* Ensure patients are correctly positioned on the treatment table to guarantee the accurate delivery of radiation, using immobilization devices as needed.
* *Safety and Compliance:* Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to other areas of the body and staff. Maintain accurate treatment records and ensure proper documentation of treatments.
* *Collaboration with Medical Team:* Work closely with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide the best care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
* *Post-Treatment Care:* Provide patients with post-treatment instructions and offer support for managing side effects related to radiation therapy.
* *Patient Education:* Educate patients about the importance of following treatment schedules, caring for themselves during therapy, and understanding potential side effects.

*Qualifications:*
* *Education:* Typically, a Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field, or an Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program.
* *Licensing and Certification:* Certification and licensure as required by the state or country of practice (e.g., ARRT certification in the U.S.).
